The Market Development and Customer Strategy Director is an industry thought leader and proven business development practitioner with a track record of partnering and collaborating with senior service provider and media customers on achieving business outcomes.  The role will provide a critical business function focused on linking the business, operational and technical strategies of our leading customers to the Telestream development strategies, roadmaps and go to market investments and priorities. 

Target customer engagements will center on transformational areas of Telestream business including accelerating market penetration of digital media, broadening penetration of existing customers through integrated Telestream solutions and the development of joint go to market solutions with strategic partners. 

Primary responsibilities and function include:

  • Identify, qualify and lead key definitional customer engagements aligned to the highest priority transformation areas
  • Drive linkages between customer engagements, Telestream investments and development strategies and overall go to market priorities
  • Design, develop and disseminate key thought leadership within the market and throughout Telestream to drive customers engagement
  • Will work closely with marketing, sales and product management to prioritize customer engagements and marketing and strategy initiatives which directly drive Telesteam monetization and also expand our body of knowledge and thought leadership on the relevant market transition.
  • Will be responsible for positioning Telestream as a trusted business partner to current and future senior business and operations executives 

Required skills, knowledge and abilities: 

  • Experienced and accomplished executive with a significant knowledge base and in-depth understanding across the service provider, broadcaster and media industries
  • 10+ years of prior consulting level experience and/or business/market strategy roles within a service provider, media player or within the eco-system of players who serve service providers or media players
  • Deep understanding of the trends and innovations within the service provider, media and broadcast marketplace
  • Referenced credibility as a though leader and strategist
  • Possess an impressive executive demeanor and be charismatic, self-motivated, and must have the natural ability to build and expand customer relationships
  • Proven ability to listen, make recommendations and influence industry executives is required. This person will be a strong thinker and problem solver with powerful written and verbal skills
  • Strong external/customer-driven focus and must be able to create a sense of urgency for action
  • Business maturity, flexibility and the instincts to adapt to a high-energy, dynamic environment characterized by high growth expectations and a collaborative culture.
  • Build collaborative, virtual teams from across Telestream on a regular and temporary basis to respond to opportunities
